Spring Trends 2018
It’s almost here! So tantalisingly close we can almost touch it!
The daffodils have started sprouting, followed by tulips and crocus’. Our natural landscape will soon be alive with colour, as the trees produce new leaves filling our countryside with luscious greens.
It’s the time of year we like to throw open windows and doors, and have a Spring clean after months of cold, wet, dark weather.
It’s also the time of year that people consider redecoration, or a change of colour schemes within their homes.
With that in mind, let's take a look at the colour trends hitting our homes in Spring 2018.
1. Colour Trends - T'is the season to be bold!
Colour pops are on trend this spring, as well as rich pigments and gelato pastels. Be brave, mix and match colours. If painting a bold colour on a wall is a step too far for you, use decorative accessories and soft furniture to introduce a variety of colours into your home.

2. Welcome Nature
This season sees the boundaries between inside and out being blurred, creating lucious interiors filled with foliage and natural materials such as wood and stone.
Natural furnishings are set to be popular this season, along with tropical plants and prints, so adorn your home with brave botanical prints and palm leaves, and beautiful textured finishes.

3. Wabi-sabi / Embellishments
Wabi-sabi is the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection. This translates, in home design, to handmade, or hand painted items, rough linens and textures, and handmade pottery. This in turns leads us to the interior trend of embellishments. Expect to see rattan and wicker make a return, along with tassels, feathers, fringing and tufting. The addition of textured finishes adds another layer to decoration, and creates interest. Mixing marbles with metals is a hit this season, use macramé cushions or wall hangings to soften the effect. Combining different textures is a must this Spring.

4. Metal Accents
Move aside copper and rose gold, this year is all about brass!
With soft pinks and emerald greens accentuating the sophisticated colour palette of brass, you can't go wrong. Furnishings with brass and gold embellishments are increasingly popular, if you want to be more subtle gold accessories are a classy addition. Don't panic if you have copper accessories within your home, mixing metals is a hit this season.

Marble adds a sophisticated charm to any scheme. This season sees green marble taking the spotlight. This beautiful, natural stone can be pricey, so if you’re looking to add a touch of luxury to your home without breaking the bank, consider marble accessories and marble effect items.

6. Industrial Minimalism
Perhaps my favourite of all the trends due to take over in 2018. Exposed brick, polished concrete and distressed finishes were popular last season, and are set to be equally as popular in 2018.
This year the use of industrial materials and furniture styles are to be pared down with simple, minimal statement lighting and home accessories.
